17 Foot Smart Fortwo Limo
Take a look at this crazy design – a 17-foot long limousine based on the Smart Fortwo city car.
The bonkers machine – named the Carbonyte Smaaart – was designed by the same people who unveiled a stretched Ferrari 360 last year.
Led my ex-McLaren man Chris Wright, Carbonyte took a standard Smart Fortwo and stretched the chassis by 2.7 metres to create the 5.1 metre monster – but stuck with the car’s standard 600cc engine.
Despite the increase in weight it’s claimed the Carbonyte Smaaart can still cruise comfortably at 80mph.
Designed as a promotional vehicle, the Carbonyte Smaaart has a 20:1 scale fibreglass replica can, complete with a ring pull which has a van-like storage space.
The Smaaart can be liveried to any client’s needs and leased on a daily basis – or bespoke models can be built at a cost of about £25,000.
Carbonyte’s Chris Wright said: “We think the Smaart will make a great promotional vehicle, combining head-turning looks with the practicality of a van.
“We’ve already had incredible reactions on the road – the vehicle’s almost stopped traffic, it’s the same reaction we had with the 20 feet Ferrari 360.”
